Scenario
You see the following error in the Event Log:
Reason
This error occurs when the temp files have reached a certain number. Typically, Microsoft limits the file count to around 65 thousand.
There can be a few things that cause this, but generally, they tend to build up over time when the applications do not clear these down correctly when certain processes are completed.
Resolution
To resolve this error, you will need to delete the temp files from the following locations:
- C:\Temp
- C:\Windows\Temp
- C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\Temp
There may also be some files in the logged on users own %temp% directory.
Please note that the files used by Exclaimer Signature Manager Exchange Edition will be called tmpXXXX.tmp.
Once the files are deleted, save the console again.
