Scenario
When replying to an email using Outlook, you notice that the images begin to lose quality and become pixelated or distorted.
Reason
This issue is caused by the way that Outlook handles images in an email chain. Outlook essentially renders the email each time it is processed and attempts to reduce the size of the email as much as possible. Doing this causes any image in the email chain to be compressed and the image to lose quality.
Resolution
This issue can be prevented by using Web Hosted images. This is because the images are referenced in the email rather than being a physical part of the chain itself.
