Relevant Product: Signature Manager Exchange Edition
WARNING! From 1st April 2021 Exclaimer will no longer be renewing any Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) for Mail Disclaimers.
Please be assured that the Exclaimer Support team will provide support until your SMA is active.
However, we recommend that you contact the Exclaimer Sales team to discuss your requirements for an upgrade to Signature Management Exchange Edition or Exclaimer Cloud - Signatures for Exchange.
Scenario
You are using Exclaimer Signature Manager Exchange Edition or Exclaimer Mail Disclaimers as follows:
- In Exclaimer Signature Manager Exchange Edition or Exclaimer Mail Disclaimers, you have configured a signature policy to append an email signature that contains embedded images.
- You have a Microsoft Exchange transport rule to append disclaimers to email messages.
Now, when sending an email message that has a signature policy (for a signature) and the transport rule (for a disclaimer) applied to it, images in the email signature are displayed as attachments to the received message. In addition, image placeholders (with a red x) are displayed in the message body, where the images should be.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Disable the Microsoft Exchange transport rule.
- Use a signature policy in Exclaimer Signature Manager Exchange Edition, or Exclaimer Mail Disclaimers to append the signature AND disclaimer to the message instead (signature policies can be used to apply disclaimer content, as well as signature content. You can also apply more than one policy to an email).
