Scenario
Some user mailboxes reside on an on-premise Microsoft Exchange server; some user mailboxes reside in Microsoft 365.
You have already deployed the Outlook Web App (OWA) signatures to the on-premise users, but OWA signatures are not deployed to the Microsoft 365 users.
Resolution
Regrettably, Microsoft has added new features and have made substantial changes to Office 365, which directly affect the working of the Signature Manager Outlook Edition. Due to the various adverse impacts and risks associated with the performance and proper use of the Signature Manager Outlook Edition, we are ending the support of Office 365 for Signature Manager Outlook Edition.
If you are using Signature Manager Outlook Edition, we recommend you migrate to our other Exclaimer Cloud products that are unaffected by any future changes from Microsoft.
Exclaimer will continue to provide support until your Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) expires to help you make a smooth transition from Signature Manager Outlook Edition to any of its other products.
Some changes of Office 365 that affect Signature Manager Outlook Edition:
- Microsoft Outlook Roaming Signatures is a new feature in which the signatures in Outlook, for Windows, will be available across devices; this implies that instead of the signatures being stored locally, on the user's Windows device, they will now be stored in the user's mailbox.
How it affects Signature Manager Outlook Edition?
Due to the way this feature syncs, Signature Manager Outlook Edition will not be able to successfully create signatures in Outlook for the different Microsoft mail clients.
- End of Life for Basic Authentication and Exchange Online- this was originally scheduled for October 2020 but has been moved to Q1 2021.
How it affects Signature Manager Outlook Edition?
This requires all users to have Multi-Factor Authentication. So, Signature Manager Outlook Edition will not be able to successfully deploy signatures to Outlook Web Access.
