Scenario
You have installed and configured Exclaimer Mail Archiver, but when attempting to use Web Search you are having similar sign-in issues:
Resolution
There can be multiple reasons why you are having sign-in issues:
- User name is incorrect:
Assuming the entered password is correct, check the username you are signing it with.
In most scenarios, you will only require the User name. If this doesn't work, try domain\username or UserPrincipalName.
- Permission issues:
Try changing the Application Pools identity to Domain Admin.
To do this:
- Click Start and click All Programs.
- Under Administrative Tools select Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager window is displayed.
- Expand the node with your server name.
- Click the Application Pools node.
- The main window changes to list the Application Pools.
- Right-click the Exclaimer Mail Archiver App Pool and from the menu select Advanced Settings.
The Advanced Settings dialog is displayed.
- From the list of properties, click Identity property (under the Process Model section).
- Click the ellipsis button (...). The Application Pool Identity dialog is displayed.
- Select the Custom account option then click Set.
- Enter your domain administrator credentials then click OK.
You will be returned to the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager screen.
- Click Recycle in the Actions pane.
- Close the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager screen.
Note: For more information on a similar scenario, see Application Pool Identity Incorrect.
- Click Start and click All Programs.
